Hi All,

Could someone please share about basics in open source.
I have good knowledge in Linux, but i would like to know more about open source.How can we categorise one software as an open source software.

If the source code is free and open to the public, it's open source.

Most open source software in Linux is released under the GPL license, you can read more here:
