about ip address


hi all.......

I have a single machine with fedora 9 installed in it...if i want to connect to remote machine or get connected from a remote machine...many times i feel i need one more system to test the things that are happening in my system....can i create a virtual machine with virtual ip address..

Can you clear your issue a bit more with some more information? What are you trying to do? And what issues are you facing? And how do you connect to the remote machine and what are the issues that you face when you connect to remote machine?

since i have only one machine i can connect to my machine using the command ssh localhost ....instead can i get one virtual ip address to my machine so that i can connect using ssh virtualip.....

If you want to test it that way then virtual machine is good option.
