About distros for raspberry Pi

Distros that are for raspberry PIs, are they installation images or are they ready to use filesystems?

Thanks

Following link gives you the images you can install and run on Raspberry pi.
http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads

The images mentioned contain bootloader, kernel and the required filesystem.
This link gives info about setting up the SD card and booting the RPi.
http://elinux.org/RPi_Easy_SD_Card_Setup

If you are just starting, it is recommended to use Raspbian.

Thanks

BTW, do these images have an installer program like dvd iso images do?

They don't need installer program. You just have to download the image from download section of RPi, follow the link above to set up the sdcard. Insert the SDcard to the device and it just boots;). FYI, you can connect the sdcard in card reader and mount it on your PC to see the partitions and contents of the sdcard.
