A small rectangular window blocking screen

Hi, I wonder if anyone knows how to solve this screen problem. I don't really know how to seek help for it but to explain it on this forum.

I don't know how it happened. The last time I was logged on was when I installed Gimp-print 4.3.3 and Ghostscript 7.05 to solve an unsolved non-printing problem with Slackware 8.1.

When I turned on the computer this morning, as I entered X-window (KDE 3.0.1), this small (blue) window (100mm x 75mm) appeared on top and covered any page on all desktops.

When I logged off, it even remained on top in the x-terminal mode but got bigger and changed to green instead. I had to type under it to shutdown.

I don't really know how to search for this kind of problem.

Help, anyone.

Thanks.

Slept Well

Hey thanks. Turned off the computer last night and back on again this morning.

I was pleasantly surprised that everything was back to normal again. Is Slackware 8.1 behaving like MS Windows, needing a good cold boot after a good night's rest???!!!

Cheers
