a questions about starting process

when I get the linux start, after some normal checking the screen shows that "bringing up interface eth0".
It takes so much time that makes my boot time longer.
What's the reason? somebody anybody can tell me how to solve it.

Its waiting for a DHCP server to send it an IP. Since it seems there is none, it waits for a default time...

[1]You can assign a fixed IP,
[2]you can disable networking,
[3]create a dhcp server on the lan

tell us your distro if you need more help... but reading some networking guides will help

thanks a lot ,and now I made it.
just like this:
# cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
#ls -l
there is a file named ifcfg-eth0
open it and change the 'onboot=yes' to 'onboot=no'
that's ok
