A question about changing a user password...
 

I'm running Slackware 12.0 and I'm trying to change a password for a user glen. I login via ssh as glen and use the password. Then I run

and it asks for the old password. I use the password, same one I use for ssh, and for some reason it says the password is incorrect. I do not have caps lock. I don't get it. I just finish logging in via ssh with that password, then I use passwd and I use the same password as the old password and it says it's incorrect.

Did you try `passwd glen`? I know that's an issue when you have gotten there using `su glen`, but I wouldn't think it would be an issue when you login directly as glen.

Didn't you just change your username from glenn to glen?

Actually no I haven't. It's still glenn hehe.

I'd check that you really are entering the keystrokes you think you are by typing out your password on the command line... sometimes you can get keyboard layout miss match wierdness... but that's me who is forever switching between US and JP keyboards.

Yea, I'm positive. I did it slow and easy. I'm using Slackware 12.0 Backtrack 3.
