A question about changing a user name...

I'm running Slackware 12.0. I have a user named glenn with a home dir /home/glenn and is using /bin/bash. I want to change the name from glenn to glen. What exactly do I need to do? I want to keep the same ownership on all the files that glenn owns.

1. Change user glenn to glen in /etc/passwd

2. Change user glenn to glen in /etc/group

3. mv /home/glenn /home/glen

Would that work?

I think these three steps should do it.
Also, it is worthwhile being in single user mode when doing this.
