A problem has been detected with your thumb nails
Hi,
I keep getting the above message every time I try to move pictures from one folder to another, it's only happened since I upgraded from Mint 17.3 to 18.1. I have done a search for answers but found nothing much to help. It's not a major problem as it is accompanied by a "Fix Now" button after which time it goes away but it will come back next time & I would like to know why it happens & preferably how to solve it. I have the Cinnamon desktop. Thanks. |
I do not really know, just guess: your thumbnail gallery was created with the old version and is not compatible with the new one. You may need to remove that and regenerate it again.

Thanks for the reply but this was a fresh install.
My title wasn't quite accurate, it should have said "A problem has been detected with your thumbnail cache" but I guess you knew what I meant. |

Hi,
No I didn't copy anything, it was a totally clean install. Thanks............ |
Have you tried working your way through this, or searched for any other solutions on the internet?

Hi hydrurga, thanks for the reply.
Ive read the link & Ive deleted the contents of the thumbnail folder & allowed it to recreate itself after rebooting, so far the issue has not re surfaced but I'll wait a while before marking it solved. I have downloaded custom themes but if the above is successful I will keep them. Thanks again, I'll keep you posted. |
