A little UT2k3?


k, i just "successfulll" installed ut 2k3

ne ways when i go to run the game it says:

open /dev/dsp: Device or resource busy
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Couldn't set video mode: Couldn't find matching GLX visual

History:

Exiting due to error

Note: I just installed nvidia drivers????

Sounds like you need to get OpenGL. I'm not sure, though, as I'm not an expert.

isn't opengl a videomode?
so....how do i GET a videomode? lol

I had the same problem when I was installing UT2k3. It's the fact that you were trying to run the installer as root, but you had no Xserver running for that user. Try CTRL+ALT+F2 and then login as root, and type startx. Or just CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE and login to your DE/WM as root and then run the installer.

When I had this problem - I knew it couldn't be anything to do with GL as I'd just been playing AA:O and i was using a GL accelerated screensaver.

And BTW OpenGL is FINE under Linux. Under Windows it is very much incomplete IMHO.
