a Gnome question
Ok, Im using gnome, I don't want to hear I should switch, I like gnome just fine.
I was wondering how to make shortcuts to home, my computer, and recycling bin. I would also like to know how to change the icon size on the icons on my desktop, I want it to look like This

There is an application called gconf-editor somewhere in your gnome menu (if it isn't install it) that can be used to enable the options you want.

Most GNOME installations have those icons there by default I thought, if not check out gconf-editor there'll be a way to turn them on for sure. And to change the size can't you right-click and stretch? There should be an option something along those lines.

Ubuntu doesn't enable those options by default. All it has is a little trash icon somewhere on the gnome-panel.

There doesnt seem to be anything about creating shortcuts to folders, at least I don't see it. Im on Ubuntu, I opened gconf-editor and looks through all the folders, nothing seemed to be even related to my computer, recycling bin, or home

What I did was right click on the desktop -> create launcher and at the command line wrote /home/<your home> and type is directory. That created a link to the home directory.
