a few questions and problems

Well, it'd like to say I've just downloaded ubuntu ultimate edition (1.4 i believe) on my second hard drive and I love it but I'm having some troubles. First of all, I love the theme but I can't read much in it... also which programs from that list should i and shouldn't I run? I'm having troubles with downloading the driver for my video card, it has an error when it tries to install the ATI function. And that brings me to another question, how do I dual screen? I love linux and would really like to learn unix but I just don't know where to go for the right info. And I was wondering what is wine? what's the deal with it? how do i get gaim?

sorry if that was a wall of unorganized text its just so many questions.

Thank you for putting your time into reading this and possibly responding with useful information

A great resource that answers many common questions for Ubuntu is the UbuntuGuide

The FAQ covers video driver installation, getting multimedia to work, and much much more. I think it may address several of the questions you have asked.

# How to install Graphics Driver (ATI) How to setup Dual Monitors with NVidia in Feisty Fawn - Maybe close enough it will work with ATI ?
or maybe the how-to here will help..
