A few questions about KDE

Hi,
I've used Gnome for a few weeks, but yesterday i started testing KDE 3.4 in my Fedora C4 Machine, and started taking this desktops thing a little more serious.

- I use a Mac-Like upper panel (which i inconditionally love), and i use 3 costumized desktops, can i costumize the items (icons applets etc) i have on panel on each desktop idependently?

- Can i have an unique taskbar for each desktop? like each programs on each desktop completly indepedent?

in other words, are the 3 desktops ive created idependent or just a different window position deffinition of the same desktop?

My objective is to have a series of multi desktop where i can be a simple internet user in one (browser im etc), a programmer in other (emacs, java etc), and server admin on the 3rd. all this in a way where i can have no taskbar spam, but a specific taskbar per desktop, such as desktop icons and panel items.
i can only imagine the power of such desktop usage. if it cant be done with kde, is there any desktop manager that can do it?
if not where can i suggest kde guys to enable such feature (kde forums)?

AFAIK, with the default KDE taskbar you can't have different icons per desktop--the same taskbar is used for all desktops.

HOWEVER, one thing which you can do which massively reduces clutter is to uncheck the option to show tasks from all desktops on the taskbar. This means the taskbar only has buttons for the windows on the current desktop. This is AWESOME. I think it should be the default behavior, but then it might leave a newbie wondering where the heck his window went.

As for "taskbar spam", I'm not sure what you can do. My personal solution is to minimize the total number of icons on the taskbar. I don't really use it much to launch applications. Mostly, I just leave applications open on different desktops according to task. For example, on Desktop 3 I have a Konqueror and a Konsole window open. When I want to do file manipulation/editing/etc, I just click on Desktop 3.

IsaacKuo already pointed out that you can't do the same with icons.
