Unhappy 802.11b driver dillemma -- too many options

i have an airlink+ 802.11b wireless usb adapter.

i have been searching for the drivers at: http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/ , but airlink is not listed.

does anyone know where to find the specific driver for this? is there a generic driver i could get that would work for this?

i had previously posted about this as a 802.11g card as i have a 802.11g router and thought the router box was the usb card box. (heh heh )

much love and thanks!

Angry i'm not THAT new a newbie!!!

Um, thanks for your reply and all, but do you honestly think that if I'm trying to tackle learning linux all by myself THAT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE GOOGLE????

YOU type that in to google. see how helpful it is? oh, that's right. IT'S NOT.

ok, sorry to be b*tchy, but crickey, people. shouldn't it be easy for you folks to help a desperate girl out? it's just a driver for pete's sake.

type it in to google. geez.

I have this card too, and Knoppix (Debian-based) is unable to recognize it.

The exact card I have is:

Airlink+ 802.11b model AWLH1201/U (PCI card)

If I knew what chipset it used, I could try installing the driver for another brand that uses the same chipset...... but neither the product manual nor www.airlinkplus.com has this information.

I am gonna try the Intersil Prism driver since they say it's the most common among the B cards.

okay....... some more Google search reveals that the Airlink 802.11b card uses this chipset:

Realtek
RTL8180 (L)

Haven't located Linux drivers or tried installing it, but I will pretty soon.

I have the same card, but PCI version. I am trying to get it to work. As far as I can determine, so far one can only use a wrapper for the windows drivers. Two options: www.linuxant.com and sourceforge.net/projects/ndiswrapper.

Today, I am trying to get it to work with ndiswrapper. No success yet, but I'm hoping!
