I've seen the Distro watch list, but it leaves out some distros.

Please post a link to that website if you do it here I would be eager to check it out.

As an aside to future users....

if you are looking for grub.conf on Kanotix or other Debian flavoured distros (i assume). the file that you can also edit is called menu.lst. I found this under /boot/grub/menu.lst

Also, if you're computer does not double click properly, e.g. in the location bar of mozilla or firefox (where you try to highlight the whole url and you have to click a hundred times fast just so the thing registers....) then adding noapictimer to the kernel line will help.. Don't know why and i don't know what i miss out on, having that line on there, but it fixes the problem.
