3D Labs Driver installation probs in Redhat Linux 9

Hi,

Machine : HPXW6000
OS : RedHat Linux9 (2.4 Kernel)
CPU: Xeon
Graphics card : 3D Labs wildcat47210

Im not able to install the 3D labs graphics driver in HP XW6000 workstation.

I have downloaded it from 3D Labs website.

When i run the script install.s it ll run n gives error ie,.

"Problem with the compile occured: Make sure you have the GCC compiler, Xwindows Devlopment, and Kernel development packages installed on your system"

Whereas, I have installed all packages for GCC, Xwindows & Kernel development.

Is there any seperate compiler for GCC?

As im new to Linux can anyone please provide the step by step solution.

regards,

Nagesh Prabhu

Probably because all the new driver software is being written for the 2.6 kernel.

Red Hat 9 is more comparable to windows 95 than to windows xp, to use the newest software you will need a newer copy of the distro, which happens to be Fedora Core 5 for the newest.
