Is your XFree86 version correct? Those drivers for FireGL1 on ati's page need either X4.1.0 or X4.0.2 (the first three numbers in driver version tell you that).
You can check your version with, for example, this script on ati's page http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/check.sh but if you are using the standard XFree86 that came with FC2 or Suse, you'll propably need to downgrade.
