3d acceleration check


ok i have an ATI Radeon X700 pro...

also when i run glxgears they turn really slow, and my screensavers crawl...

and also, i have the new ubuntu edgy 6.10 (im pretty sure)

any help on making my GFX card reach its potential would be greatly appreciated

That's your problem. Google for your card and direct rendering (sorry, I'm an nvidia guy) to see how to enable direct rendering. Good luck with the fix!

ok i have searched to not much avail, does anybody have any suggestions as to an indirect place that i could look.

ok i found this site and i am posting for anybody else who might have a similer problem, i just added this to the end of my xorg.conf
