3Connect dongle problem

Hi,
I loaded Linux for the first time to try it out and have everything working ok apart from I just cannot get a 3Connect dongle to work. I've tried all the windows compatibilities (Wine, etc) but to no avail. The dongle is model MF112. I'm running Ubuntu
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Does an icon for the mobile dongle appear on your desktop? Do you see the name of the mobile dongle in the networkmanager icon on the taskbar?

Make sure usb_modeswitch is installed. If that doesn't make it work, you could try this

Glad you got it working. You can show your thanks and appreciation by posting what you did to make it work. Let's make it easier for the next person who has this problem to find a quick solution.

I installed "Sakis3G" to get this working as usb_modeswitch was already installed.
