3c501 device etho does not seem to present delaying intialization error


I have redhat linux enterprise edition 5 installed on my PC.


When, I went in system-config-network window,
& click on 'Activate' button
there on the screen, it is giving error as .......

3c501 device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.

3c501?!? That's an 8-bit, ISA-bus, 10Base-2/AUI NIC from the 1980s!

There's just no way that's even remotely correct. Did you select "3c501" yourself somewhere? Because that's most certainly a non-PnP NIC.
