questions: fstab proftpd fonts
Hi!
I installed proftpd, and in order for it to work I need to kill inetd(it's using port 21); is there a way to avoid doing this each time I start my ftp(without changing the ftp port)? And ... what "defaults" mean in fstab(for Slackware 9.1) and where can I find more about them(read the man page already); can I modify them so that I gain read access as a simple user? And a third one :) : where can I find some general information about instaling fonts and special characters(namely romanian letters) and keyboard mappings. Thanks |
strange, you shouodnt need to kill inetd.
at least i dont and im using vsftpd anyway, you will probably find no1 will answer your questions unless you use a relevant subject title. |
Well, I tried to change it... without success. But I managed to answer 2 of my 3 questions:
1. I could "tell" inetd not to listen on port 21(in config file). Or I could make proftpd run from inetd, and not standalone(I thoungh it would require some special skills to do that :D ). 2. In the fourth column in fstab add umask=022, and you will have r-x rirhts to the mounted file. 3. I still need some help on this one. Anyone  ? |
