2'nd .deb distro added to Ubuntu,problems booting Ubuntu

I added Bt4 from live cd,allocated a fifth of entire disk to it. During boot time i selected both Ubuntu in recovery mode and got 'error 15'..
I have root privileges though through Bt and access to partition editor.I noticed that the /dev/sda1 where Ubuntu is has no / in it..
there are a few ways to fix this .. even a hint will do ;
what am i missing ? a mount point ? or a separate boot ?
boot seems to be in Ubuntu though

/dev/sda6 ext3 / 96.52Gib 8.22 88.30 =Bt4
/dev/sda1 ext3 357.79Gib 17.13 340.66 boot =Ubuntu

thanks
