1280x800 resolution on scientific linux

Hi all,

On vmware I installed Scientific Linux 4.
I don't manage to use the resolution 1280x800 even if the monitor is set to generic lcd 1280x800 (even if in windows I do)

I have tried to:

- modify /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- use 955resolution

but I got no results.

my pc is a dell latitude d630 with
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
nVidia Quadro NVS 135M

Have you installed VMware Tools on hosted linux? If not - do so. You can than set vmware to 'resize client' mode.
