100% best way to introduce yourself 2 Linux
Go to a bookstore, preferably a nation wide chain, head to the magazine section. Buy a Linux magazine that has a distro of Linux packaged with it. You get the Linux and a wealth of info.

Another godd idea is to obtain one of the live cds. This lets you experiment with Linux without partitioning drives, etc.
