10.1 - Drakconf - deleted

I wonder if anyone could help me on this please -

I am using Mandrake 10.1 KDE and had a little trouble downloading updates from urpmi. In the console gave a few error messages, no media etc.

In a moment of madness I deleted ' Drakconf ' - don't ask why?

Is there anyway I can install Drakconf without losing everything on my system.

Thanks for looking

Have you tried doing a repair? Just a suggestion but if you boot from your Mandriva CD there should be an option of repair current installation (if I remember correctly). But back up your data just in case something goes wrong. Well thats all I can think of. Good Luck.

Tried installing from the CD's but the only option you have is a 'Rescue' type install. This is not suitable for installing 'Drakconf'.

Will have to try something else - any other suggestions please

Start a terminal session and do as root, urpmi drakconf.

Thanks Reddazz for your help and sorry about posting on the other forum.

Still not fixed the problem. Not only did I delete ' Drakconf' I also deleted ' urmpi '. Don't ask why, it must be the medication. Hi. Have been looking around for a copy of 'urmpi' but no luck so far.

Would appreciate your suggestion please on where to get a copy of urmpi.

Thanks again for yout time and attention and again my apology for the wrong posting.

Go to this Mandriva update mirror and download urpmi, then install it (you may need to install required dependencies manually as well). Once thats done, configure some urpmi sources using the instructions from easyurpmi, then do "urpmi drakconf".
