1 of the 2 slackware on system is for testing...kernel compilation/permission issues

Hello all,
i've two slackware 10.0 on my machine
/dev/hda6 MainLinux
/dev/hda7 TestingLinux

lilo of MainLinux is in mbr and i've mounted /dev/hda7 in /mnt/TestingLinux in MainLinux.
lilo of Testing is in its root i think.

Now i successufully compiled the TestingLinux and gave it the name 2.4.261
its files are in

so now i was about to have

as i was supposed to make the entries for this newly compiled in the /etc/lilo.conf of the MainLinux but by mistake i did it in the lilo.conf of the TestingLinux and #/sbin/lilo

but realizing this i rebooted the system in MainLinux.
But there i'm not being able to access the vmlinuz and of 2.4.261.
its marked up by the "lock" symbol.

So i installed the lilo of TestingLinux into mbr and now i'm inside the 2.4.261 Linux.

But why its not letting me access from MainLinux ????

i'm root everywhere.

one thing i just noticed that both the "" and "vmlinuz" are the symbolic links to "" and "vmlinuz-2.4.261"
and these symbolic links have been locked with the "lock" sign and not the original files.
So i think there won't be any problem if i edit the lilo.conf of this MainLinux and "image" has the path upto the vmlinuz-2.4.261 instead of its symbolic link.
what you people say ???
