\usepackage {pgfplots} package problem

when I compile any file latex using pgfplots (\usepackage {pgfplots}), it fails with this errore (in (in pgfplotsoldpgfsupp.code):

your post is very hard to read. Exactly how are you trying to "compile"? Eg Using pdflatex on the commandline:

What do you mean by "any" tex files? Even very simple ones? Eg

Howe did you install latex? Did you did pgfplots every work for you in the past? Did you knowingly change something?
