[Ubuntu] Having trouble connecting to the internet
Well, I installed Ubuntu from wubi-installer.org. (So I assume it is the latest version of ubuntu) Anyway I tried to connect to the internet. I clicked the thing up at the top next to the volume and it prompted me for my network key. I entered it in and pressed connect. It took like forever for the little thing to stop spinning around then finally the same thing just came back prompting me for my password and I still couldn't connect. I guess that's how they say you failed the login or something but I know I entered in the right key. Later I checked out some other internet connections and I found one called linksys (which is by the way my router) so I tried to connect to it without a password and it worked. However my internet was extremely slow. Now all of a sudden for some reason neither of them work. Am I doing something wrong here or what? I'm very new to linux.
Just in case furthur information is needed about my version here is what I got from uname -a Linux ubuntu 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux Thanks for any help. |

Yeah I have a laptop. I pressed fn + f2 and it just pasted lsmod in the terminal..

Weird, but yours could be anything. What would you press to turn your wireless on/off? And can I have the other answers to my questions?
|
I don't know what I would use to do that..
And my wireless details are: Wireless security: WEP 40/128 bit Key WEP Index: 1 (Default) Authentication: Shared Key |
