[SOLVED...Well Sort of] Which linux distros has k9copy???

Hi

I am running PclinuxOS KDE plasma 5.x and I amusing k9copy v3.0.3-3.

For some unknown reasons k9copy is not authoring properly as before. There are no error messages after it's done doing it's thing. I then use VLC to playback the dvd folder that k9copy created. And VLC will either crash or exit. This NEVER happen before.

I've used k9copy for years and this is the first time I am having issues with it.

Sometimes packages that are not maintained that much can have issues with newer linux libraries and more. I'm not sure this is the case, it's only a guess.

Anyway, I tried mint and ubuntu and k9copy isn't in the repos.

Do you have or know a distro with k9copy in the repos. Thanks

I did a search at rpm.pbone.net and turned up only one distro: PCLinuxOS.

You could try downloading the .src.rpm for k9copy and conpiling a binary to install on your system to see if that works.

Good luck.

I was also doing research on this. I found out the original k9copy project is discontinued. They did however pass the project to someone else. The new k9copy project is called k9copy-reloaded.

My pclinuxos is using the latest k9copy so I just have to hope the bugs get worked out in future updates.

Thanks for the reply.

I got k9copy working again but in freebsd 11.1. K9copy works best in KDE4. And KDE4 is the latest release in freebsd 11.1.

Linux is my main OS but when I need to use k9cpy I have to use freebsd.
