[Gnome in archLinux]the active window has a broken headline

I have a small but annoying issue.
My active window has always a broken headline.
If I have another (and smaller) window in front of a bigger window, the bigger windows headline sorts its stuff again and it is a normal headline again.
Thank you for your help

this is the only place where you are seeing this behavior?
only the active window title?
you can't reproduce it anywhere else?

it has something to do with gnome's windowmanager, and hwo it renders fonts.
obviously.
i suspect it (gnome and/or the windowmanager) uses hardware accelaration, and the problem is somewhere in there.

if i remembered what the window manager's name was, i could make some searches.
mutter?

This is code that came when I put in "wmctrl -m":
Code:
Name: GNOME Shell
Class: N/A
PID: N/A
Window manager's "showing the desktop" mode: N/A
And this is the output of "lspci -k | grep -iEA5 'vga|3d|display'":
Code:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 520 (rev 07)
Subsystem: Dell Skylake GT2 [HD Graphics 520]
	Kernel driver in use: i915
	Kernel modules: i915
00:04.0 Signal processing controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v5/E3-1500 v5/6th Gen Core Processor Thermal Subsystem (rev 08)
Subsystem: Dell Xeon E3-1200 v5/E3-1500 v5/6th Gen Core Processor Thermal Subsystem
Thank you for your help once again and happy new year!

i still don't know what or why.
maybe you should have a look at logs, too.
e.g.
Code:
dmesg|grep i915
or Xorg logs.

i do suspect the skylake graphics.
there seem to be a few threads about people having problems with it.
maybe you need to install firmware.
or a newer kernel.
Code:
uname -rv
have a look here: https://gist.github.com/Brainiarc7/a...ad6cdd835efe57

I had a look into the link you posted and I tried following it which did not help at first, but I think an update fixed it a couple weeks ago as it stopped happening since then.
Thank you a lot for your help though!
