Unhappy [crashing] mysql problem connection linux!!

i have cent linux using plesk 8.6 on my dedicated server. the problem is mysql cannot start on ssh or anywhere. It show "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock". I have try to start mysql using "mysql start" but also prompt same error. I have not found "mysql.sock" on my server. What should i do now, all the data are in "frm" and "MYD" on table folder. What should i do? Please help....

Find mysql folder is there in /var/lib/ or not. It it is there find for mysql.sock in that folder or not. Install webmin package from there in Servers option click on mysql server and select start. Ucan get it later if you want you can uninstall webmin package. I am using Fedora 8. I faces same problem and unexpectedly it was trouble shooted.
