Since panda has no update script for their linux commandline scanner i must make one.

I know how to download the update file :

"wget --http-user=myuserid --http-passwd=myuserpassword URL:updates.pandasoftware.com:8003/software/basevirus/pav0228.zip"

This works the only problem is i do not know when pav0228.zip changes
i cant get a directory listing or index.

What is the best way to ensure i always download a good update automaticly

has anyone done this be4 ?

I called with panda and they say do it manualy (yeah right)

The only think I can think of is to check the md5sum of the file. If you want to make sure you have downloaded it right then you will probably need to download it twice to be sure.
