[B]problem in Samba PDC[\B]

Assalam o Alaikum!

I have configure samba for Primary Domain Controller. I am unable to connect windows XP with samba's domain.

My smb.conf is attached with this. I have static IPs on both samba server and Windows xp.

starting service of samba and running command smbpassword for adding root user as a samba user.

Then goes to Win XP--> Properties of my computer---> Comp Name---> *Domain: SAMBA ----> ok

Then error appears unable to connect.

Kindly help

line 118 security = user should be commented out, probably line 120 also.
line 89 netbios name should be set

Probably there can be more errors, but these are should be set first. Please also post the name of the hosts, the ip of the hosts and error message you got

I have done your stated changes but still get same error. I have have attached smb.conf

SAMBA SERVER:
hostname---->PDCSERVER
IP-----> 192.168.1.10

Windows XP client:
IP-----> 192.168.1.233

Error message at Win XP when I connect it with Samba PDC:
The Domain controller for the domain SAMBA could not be contacted. Ensure domain name typed correctly.

after that change you need to restart samba. Can you see PDCSERVER from the XP client?
