@ my wits end .. HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPP

hi all,

I have done everything i know to do to get my sound working, but it just doesn't work. i have done alsaconf, modconf, and even tried going to asus website to get drivers seeing as i have an asus p5p800 mobo. I even installed a new soundcard, it gives this after lspci | grep audio:

0000:02:0a.0 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies Inc. VT1720/24 [Envy24PT/HT] PCI Multi-Channel Audio Controller (rev 01)

I have tried selecting the via drivers in modconf and they won't load (i assume they are only loaded if there's a "+" sign to the right of them, even though it says they installed successfully). Can anybody help me? I just don't know where to go from here!

I have tried to open the mixer (kmix) and it says no audio devices installed, so i know volume isn't my problem.

thanks in advance,

c-dawg
