i am running knoppix off a cd and i want to partition my hard drive using QTParted. how exactly do i create a new partition.

Right click on your main partition (the biggest one) and choose "resize". Drag it down to however small you want it to be. Voilą, you know have a smaller partition. and some free space. Create whichever new partitions you need in this new free space. Make sure when you are done with everything that you click File->Commit in QTParted
