'No KDM In' error on Sabayon 4.2

Hello,

I'm having a very, very serious problem, I'm not new to linux, but I'm new to gentoo based systems and I cannot find anything on the internet about this. I just emerged kmix and restarted and am presented with the error 'No KDM in:' then a list of directories. I tried dpkg-reconfigure kdm, with the error 'command not recognised'.

what should I do? I do not have internet connection, I have no idea what to do!

system is a vostro 1000 with 2.0 AMD Sempron 3600+ with 1GB of memory, no problems with Ubuntu at all.

thanks for any help,

EN
