Yet another 3c905 problem

Regular Info:

Tyan 2466N-4M with 3 com 3c920 onboard ethernet
2 AMD 1800 MP
2 80 gig hiatchi on software miror raid
CD junk
rage 128 video
Realtek pci ehternet adapter

Problem:

Ok so a month ago I had problems I could not diagnose, sent processors and board in as RMA. Turned out both processor had bad cache, what luck. So that was the problem. Well TYAN decided they were going to do an upgrade of the board BIOS which required a whole new BIOS chip. I got it back, nothing worked right since. TYAN said they checked everything so Im working on these problems piece by piece. The orginal BIOS by the way was a Phoenix 4.01 now its a 4.06.

So I was running redhat 8.0 with a 2.4.13 kernel and everything was hunky doory before. Now I have tried redhat 8.0 with the same kernel and could not get my sound blaster to work or ethernet, (i'll worry about the sound card later). The Realtek PCI seems to work fine most of the time, occasionly it seems to loose it mind. Now Im running Redhat 9 with 2.4.24 kernel by the way.

The integrated ethernet adapter actually works, once I am able to get an ip. After ruuning a bit though, browsing a couple of google pages for instant, it start coming up with these errors.

Mar 31 19:48:15 localhost kernel: eth1: transmit timed out, tx_status 00 status e000.
Mar 31 19:48:15 localhost kernel: diagnostics: net 0ccc media 8880 dma 000000a0.
