YaST Online Updater
 

Hello.

This question may sound weird but hey, i'm a n00b so i'm allowed :)

I'm using SuSE 9.2, tried to enable the online updater a few times but it asks me for a server... ftp.suse.com is not good enough for it and google didn't provide me with additional servers that work, could you please give me few links of servers and a short walkthrough so I will know if i'm doing it right?

You could actually go to suse.com and look to see if they have a list since they do...

Or you could just pick the server from the drop down menu that Online Update Provides...

YasT Updater needs not only ftp site, but also you have to indicate directory on that ftp, containing suse packages. So, go to some SuSE mirror and check directory structure

there should just be a drop down menu with a list of about 10 or so servers around the world.

erm... if there was i wouldn't have asked ppl in forums about it.

I have 9.0 but I believe it's the same for you since you only point to the suse directory and it looks in the right subfolder of your arch then the subfolder for your version.

Just tried the link ftp://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/suse/ , it worked well for me, thanks all for replying and especially David for helping me solve this one.
