Hello all!
I have a positively strange thing going on on my computer at the moment.

While I can access all other sites on the net, and the rest of Yahoo just fine, I can not access mail.yahoo.com at all. When I try to ping it, it just times out after a while. It resolves to the correct IP though.

When I boot into windows on the same computer I can access and ping it just fine.

I'm connected with Cable, and I know that windows and linux uses the same DNS servers. I also checked my firewall rules, and I can't find anything that blocks Y! mail in it. when I try to traceroute it, it only goes as far as my ISP, and then it just shows *s.]

Not that it solves anything, but if you do "dig mail.yahoo.com" can you get in using any of these IP addresses?:
login.yahoo.akadns.net 64.58.76.99
login.yahoo.akadns.net 64.58.76.98

Thanks for the reply.. Yep, I can access the Yahoo login with both of those addresses.

Could it be possible that my ISP's DNS is out of date or something? I still find it weird that I can access and ping it fine from windows.

I found that I can sometimes not access *.yahoo.com, but I could access *.yahoo.co.uk... if you can go there, you can access your .com email address... (I have thymox@yahoo.com but access it fine from mail.yahoo.co.uk).
