Question XWindows over SSH

Im trying to Access my RH9 Box Graphically via SSH. I enabled X11 forwarding in the sshd_config file. The remote computer im using is a WinXP system w/ PuTTY. I setup PuTTY to forward X11, i also set the field DISPLAY (in putty) to localhost:1 . I get the following error when typing startx or xinit:

<log>
[root@localhost root]# startx

You don't want to use startx, try pushing back a single program (start with something simple like xeyes).

I don't recommend pushing back your desktop enviornment (KDE, GNOME, ETC.), instead only push back the programs you want/need to run.

Also, do you have something like webtermX or Exceed on your Windows machine running when you do this? You'll need some type of X emulator.
