xvncviewer, don't want 24bit colour


I've tried all command options to reduce number of colours, but always
get:
"TXImage: Using default colormap and visual, TrueColor, depth 24."

even though it looks like they are reduced. does it have to be done on server side?

also, what type of compression is best for editing text files remotely?

You should post some examples. There is option LowColourLevel, it works for me. GUI option also work. Server not need to be adjusted. You can select different options for each connection and each will use minimum needed bandwith.

Just try, you have only 2 options. For me the auto mode is sufficient, it always choose hextile.
