Xubuntu 10.04

I have just installed Xubuntu 10.04 with ease.
But cannot set up the network.
Have hacked /etc/network/interfaces:

Code:

auto eth0
iface etho inet static
address 192.168.1.6
netmask 255.255.255.0

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet dhcp

Does not respond to this. eth0 still acts as DHCP

eth1 will not connect.

There is no Accessories->Settings->Network

Only by re-installing XUBUNTU with LAN connected into eth1.

Now for some reason /etc/network/interfaces seems to work

So you couldn't label this post SOLVED since it seems yet another quirk with LINUX installations.
