xsmbrowser - still having a problem

Hello people,
perhaps I'm in the wrong place here but ...

I am using XSMBROWSER and am having a problem with it when I try to see the shares on a Win-XP machine.
XSMBROWSER spawns nmblookup & smbclient commands but fails. It does show the machine in its GUI:-
spawn nmblookup -d 1 NICK
querying NICK on
querying NICK on
name_query failed to find name NICK

Other times it does this:
spawn smbclient -N -L NICK -I -W WORKGROUP
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]

Sharename Type Comment
--------- ---- -------
Error returning browse list: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]

Yet if I issue the command in a Konsole:-
[ian@turnbui ian]$ smbclient -N -L NICK -I -W WORKGROUP
Domain=[NICK] OS=[Windows 5.1] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]

Sharename Type Comment
--------- ---- -------
Documents Disk

Can anyone explain whats going on here please?
