Xinetd doesn't start

Hi,

I am runing SuSe8.2

Xinetd doesn't start,

root:~ # /etc/init.d/xinetd start
Starting INET services. (xinetd) done

!! but

root 5903 0.0 0.0 1476 480 pts/0 R 18:13 0:00 grep xinetd

I am having the same problem on SUSE 8.2?

If I start Xinetd it says it has started but:

rcxinetd status - unused?

Does anyone else use proftp with xinetd?

If so did you have any problems getting it working?
