I've got a wierd problem here. I'm running Debian 6.0.4 on a sparc system and I'm having issues with running remote programs on it. If I ssh into it with "ssh -X user@debianmachine" on a linux system running standard X.Org then remote X applications work fine. If, on the other hand, I connect to the box using PuTTY (With the X forwarding option checked) on my Windows machine which is running XMing 7.5.0.40 then I get errors like this whenever I try and run a remote X application:
Code:
user@wopr:~$ xterm
X Error of failed request: BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this con nection)
Major opcode of failed request: 55 (X_CreateGC)
Resource id in failed request: 0x5c800000
Serial number of failed request: 3
Current serial number in output stream: 4
user@wopr:~$ gvim
The program 'gvim' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadIDChoice (invalid resource ID chosen for this connection)'.
(Details: serial 3 error_code 14 request_code 55 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
Does anyone know what might be causing this? I've not had any problems like this with XMing (or X.Org) before
