wu-ftpd ... the usual problem

I am having a problem under RedHat 7.1 in trying to access wu-ftpd from any other computer, using the internal or external IPs. The server is running wu-ftpd, opensshd, and apache httpd.

All services run fine, except for wu-ftp which I can connect to, but never login to. There is obviously a problem with the configuration since I had the problem before, reinstalled, and there is still a problem.

Curiously, though, another box running RedHat 7.1 is running a wu-ftpd server with no trouble after just one identical install. hmmm...

Help?

I'm thinking its something with the firewall on the server, but I can't remove it and expect to be safe, and I don't know what to change on the firewall to allow it to work.

if you're logging at all....i dont think it's a problem with a firewall.......
