wu-ftpd login

I've seen a lot of posts on connection time but haven't figured out my problem. I have a small lan with redhat 7.1 server and win98 client connected via netgear router.

My server hosts and resolve.conf files are below. I need the nameserver entry to get to the internet on the linux pc. Am I missing any required entries? FTP connection time is painfully slow for both external AND internal attemps.
The ip of my linux box is 192.168.0.10, is it required in the files?

/etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 simpsons localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.0.4 mywinpc

/etc/resolv.conf
search localdomain
nameserver 192.168.0.1 (this is a netgear ro318 dsl router)

# Added to ftpaccess
dns resolveroptions -aaonly -dnsrch

If you are using wu-ftpd and are seeing a 30 second to 1 minute delay after you have logged in, try the following.

Edit the/etc/xinetd.d/wu-ftpd file and delete USERID.
log_on_success += DURATION
Make sure to restart xinetd after you make the change.
