Would this work to share a broadband connection?

Hi

I want to sign up for broadband with an ISP which is offering a free modem.
The modem they are offering is this one:
http://www.dlink.com.au/products/broadband/dsl302g/

Now, I want to share the connection between 2 PCs, and was thinking of connecting via USB to a windows 98 one and ethernet to the other linux one.
I don't really know much about networking, so would that work?

Thanks
