Lightbulb Would this be OK to get rid of Spam?

This is not a question about linux networking... just an Idea:

Let's suppose I have an account at paypal.... but I receive 100+ emails claiming to be from paypal that are spam (right now, I don't have a paypal account... so I just dump them ;-)). How about if paypal used a "hint" in the subject (that I provide) so that I can configure a filter in my email client so it can tell a valid paypal from spam... in other words, the email "sender" is provided a hint from the email receiver so the receiver can tell when the email is valid.

What do you think? Should I file for a patent? LOL
