Workstations keep disappearing in Windows 10 File Explorer

I have several Windows 10 workstations on a home network. I also have a Ubuntu server setup with Samba running. I do not want to use a domain but I want to see and share between all of the computers on my home network. I know this is a Microsoft issue because when I get the sharing to work they all disappear again the next time Microsoft does an update.

What can I do to make all my workstations visible without going the domain route? I do see one of the computers consistently but the others have disappeared. My samba server does not show up in any of my file explorers. I now access my Ubuntu server with a shortcut on all of my workstations. After I bring up my server using the shortcut it works normally and I can transfer files and access them like I should but it goes away as soon as I close the file server.

Any Suggestions?

Make sure you configured your home LAN as a private network and have network discovery turned on for your Windows computers. Do you have any homegroups?

Make sure the Ubuntu firewall if running allows traffic on all the SMB/CIFS ports. It might also help if you configured it as a WINS server.
