workstation cannot reach server
 

I am doing a class project. We have two machines, one with server installation and one with workstation installation. I have a crossover cable between the two. I am on the server machine right now so it hits the web. But using the ip of this machine as the gateway address for the workstation machine I cannot hit the internet with it.

What is the first thing I need to troubleshoot.

What distro?

fedora core 2

I should have said that the first time, sorry.

we created a script file of rules to apply to the iptable.

I can ping this machine from the workstation computer, but cannot get the web browser to connect to anything.
